Set your VCR/DVD recorders for an upcoming TV broadcast of readings from Bob Avakian’s memoir, From Ike to Mao and Beyond: My Journey from Mainstream America to Revolutionary Communist.On June 10, an event at Valencia Street Books in San Francisco featured readings from the memoir by former Oakland City Councilman Wilson Riles Jr., activist Patricia St. Onge, actor Lucía Marano, and Revolution correspondent Larry Everest, as well as a conversation about the book between Insight Press editor Quetzal Ceja and Maoist political economist Raymond Lotta.
The event was recorded by cable channel C-SPAN 2 for the “Book TV” program. It will air on Sunday, July 24, at 5:15 a.m. (Eastern time).
